The plane leading the formation!

The B-24 was a bomber that was used through the WW2 in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters used for several different roles. This time, we see how well FlightLine does representing this plane with their 2000mm model.

                                                            Specs:

Wing Span
2000mm
Motors
4x 3530-860kv
Props
9.5 x 7 Counter-Rotating
Recommended Battery
2X 3s 5000  mah or 2x 4s 3000 - 4000
Channels
Throttle, Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder, Flaps, Retracts

The B-24 came in an exceptional packaging that was modeled for safe transportation of the plane. This includes a midsection that protects the fuselage of the aircraft! Ohhhh man, does this package hold a lot! It was no small task designing a bag of holding for this plane!

When taking out the plane, you begin seeing the small details, the beautiful panel lines and the extra parts you get for flying either D or J version of the bomber. The main difference come in the noses, one is a greenhouse, and the other has a gun turret! Both noses are secured firmly with magnets. When I say firmly, they snap into place because of the strong magnets and not going to fall over during flight. This is a fantastic detail that Flightline provided with the plane.

The manual included in the box contained understandable instructions, and the plane was easy to assemble. We have spent more time on other planes with fewer parts but a lousy manual. She is breathing taking to assemble! When is come together, you really get a feel for her size.

The can be easily transported to the field because the wing come in halves and connect firmly to the fuse. Overall, when taking this plane to the field, she goes together beautifully. There is a ribbon cable coming out of each wing handling all the connections making each wing connect quickly with one plug. The ribbon cable plugs into a central box that handles all the connections and splitting between each wings control surfaces. This central unit then plugs into the receiver making for a clean and easy installation. I cannot express how happy I am see this included in the plane. This small detail makes the plane easier to assemble and lowers the wear and tear on the receiver. She also includes a BEC to help with the power delivery to all those servos!

However, during the build, there were a few issues. One of the wing halves came with missing engine cowlings. Motion RC replaced the wings for us once they had them in stock. Motion RC' s customer support overall is pretty good. The next issue we ran into was the decals. They are a water slide type and brittle! The came off when she landed during the maiden.

Overall, the maiden went well. The plane slows done well and has tons of power. She needs a bomb bay! There were a few issues through. Watch the video to find out!
